"I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for all of the time Marilyn Ladin spent with my family while our mother was dying. My family had some difficult decisions to make and Marilyn's compassion in truthfully presenting our options helped us to make the right decision.
In addition to working with my family, Marilyn sensed a need for our family's reconciliation with one another for many years of differences. With her facilitation, we were able to work through 15 years of distance, misunderstandings and old wounds. The work will continue, but could never have been approached, let alone dealt with, without her intuitive, therapeutic ability. There would have been tremendous tension in dealing with my mother's end of life issues had we not cleared the air on the old family issues.
Marilyn continued to follow-up with my family weeks after my mother's death. Marilyn is a genuinely caring person and one who tirelessly devotes her time to caring for the families in the ICU. From my personal perspective, Marilyn is the perfect person for that job. I am a Hospice nurse and work with grieving families myself. It was very different being on the other side. I could not have chosen a better social worker." -WD
"What a wonderful way to start the new year for me to know how to banish this agony from my life for good!" - AN
"MY MOTHER WAS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE WELL OVER TWO MONTHS AND MY COUSIN MR. WAS IN THE SAME WARD FOR 3 WEEKS. WHENEVER I VISITED THE HOSPITAL I WAS GREETED WITH THE SMILING FACE OF MARILYN LADIN WHO WAS ALWAYS READY TO GIVE A HELPING HAND AND GAVE A LOT OF HOPE AND CONSOLATION. SHE GAVE US LOT OF HELP AND SOCIAL ADVICE. MARILYN HAS EXCELLENT ATTITUDE, POISE, KNOWLEDGE AND ALWAYS EAGER TO HELP.
ON BEHALF OF MY FAMILY I TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK THE ENTIRE MEDICAL STAFF FOR THEIR EXCELLENT SERVICE AND MEDICAL CARE TO OUR PATIENT AND COURTESY SHOWN TO US." -RP
“I first met Marilyn over the course of my father’s passing at Methodist Hospital, where she served as the palliative care social worker. Overwhelmed by grief, and barely out of college, I was at a total loss as to how to navigate. It was Marilyn who got us through, guiding us through all the practical, emotional, and mental challenges with remarkable compassion.

Beyond that, Marilyn played a critical role in helping my siblings and me with our mother's illness shortly thereafter. She has a rare ability to understand not only the logistical complexities of end-of-life issues, but also the emotional, mental, and psychological challenges each person faces.

Over the years, Marilyn has been more than a mentor – she has been a profound influence in my life and family, and we cannot thank her enough.” -DW
